Hello Warrior Family! My name is Shavon Brown and I am beyond excited about being your new principal. I am honored to be chosen to lead such an amazing school and school community. I am excited to spend time getting to know each of you. Here are some things about me: I am recently engaged, have a 4-year old niece that I absolutely adore, and I find joy in fitness and traveling. I have been an educator for 17 years and I am fortunate to have spent those years impacting the youth of Edgecombe County as an English teacher at Tarboro High School and as an assistant principal at SouthWest Edgecombe High School. I was also fortunate to grow and develop as a leader at both G.W. Carver and Martin Millennium Academy during my principal residency. I am excited about continuing this work as a member of the Warrior family beginning in the 2021-2022 school year. In my time at East Carolina University and the North Carolina Leadership Academy, sponsored by North Carolina State University, I have had the opportunity to cultivate skills focused on impacting curriculum, instruction, literacy, and leadership. I look forward to sharing and applying these experiences in any way that will be useful to our students and school. Every student, parent, staff member, and community member is valued and plays a critical role in the success of our school and students. It is my hope that we can all work together to continue creating a school culture that allows our students to flourish and excel without limits. North Edgecombe High School is a special place.
